this is my very first save file, and i’m already in fall of the first year and i don’t really have a lot done in regards to mining and i don’t even have a single silo or coop yet (mainly because i locked in on marrying harvey, hehe my bad)

i read somewhere that the prices increase year by year so am i progressing too slowly in my run to keep up with that? sorryy i’m super new 😭

I only recall a price increase for Pierre’s seeds on year 2. I’m on year 7 and haven’t had any other price increases in that regard.

There’s no harm in playing Stardew at your own pace. You’re doing fine ❤️

Play at you pace! your first save has a lot of exploration. Of course your next will be faster but there’s no rush or penalties.

There’s no such thing as too slow. If anything, that’s actually decently fast. I don’t remember doing anything meaingful in my first year

For the prices, IIRC that only applies to Robin’s supplies starting year 2 (I don’t remember others mailing me a price hike anyway so idk)

Also that {relation hearts to Harvey}:{relation hearts to others} ratio is bonkers lol

You’re doing great. Some say the first year is your tutorial year. Every move you make is pretty much just figuring the game out. Listen to the pretty flute, relax and have fun. I don’t think the prices increase by year but my knowledge on this game is only surface level.

Level 8 farming by fall is awesome btdubz.

edit: I could be paranoid but I apologize if my comment comes off as condescending in any way

There’s no pace. Would love to see your farm setup. Nice farming level.

  6. that’s the neat part, there is no wrong way to play this game! my main save, which is my very first farm, is currently at year 10 and i’ve spent the last two years doing nothing but decorating, solely because i enjoy it 🙂 take things at your pace, do the things you enjoy doing. the grind sometimes takes the fun out of cozy games

The thing that I think is the most important to remember while playing Stardew is that there is no ultimate objective other than to do whatever you have fun with

Are you having fun? Then you’re doing just fine! Tbh I find that I have the most fun when I play more relaxed. Sometimes I notice myself stressing about everything I want to get done in a day and I have to slow myself down cause thats not how I like to play. There is really no wrong pace and you have until eternity to do whatever the hell you want to do in stardew

Just go at a pace that’s enjoyable for you, don’t stress about it! It doesn’t matter wether it’s too slow or too fast lol, it won’t negatively impact your gameplay in any way.

  10. There is no such thing. Stardew valley is meant to be played and enjoyed at the own pace.

this is stardew valley, the right pace is the pace you’re doing while enjoying the game.

Your pace in stardew is like a wizard, they are never Kaiser nor early your pace is exactly when it needs to be.

I wouldn’t worry about the prices going up, most if not all of them are just resources u can grab yourself. Just enjoy the game and play at your own pace.

  14. too slow? love, it’s a video game! please don’t stress so much. play how you enjoy, and i’m sure you will be fine. i have never heard of someone playing too slowly to keep up with the prices. if it gets too expensive for your budget, you figure out ways to make more money. that’s all. reddit can make it feel like there are “right” ways to play and metrics to keep up with, but this game is meant for players of all speeds. you will be fine, i promise!! (if you somehow end up hating the way things are progressing, you can start a new save file. this is your first! be patient with yourself as you learn the game.) most important thing i’ve learned when i get stressed about daily tasks etc. is to remember that you are not running out of time for ANYTHING. the game keeps going. the days are short but there are always more. and the point of the game is to HAVE FUN!

that’s completely normal, but the only thing that isn’t normal is your inventory please fix it and how did you get married and have almost full hearts on you’re one fault it took me till like three to get married

  16. don’t focus on pace, focus on learning. Try new things, unlock more crafting, raise your skills. This game is incredibly deep in how much there is to learn about gameplay, so the more you learn now, the faster you can do things when you make new farms
