[Fabric 1.21+] I made a 100% client-side QoL mod that remembers your exact inventory layout after death and automatically snaps items back to their original slots!

Hey everyone!

Like many of you, I always found it incredibly annoying to die in Minecraft, run back to my death point, pick up my items, and then spend 2 minutes manually sorting my hotbar, armor, and tools back to exactly where they were.

To solve this, I created WhereIsMyStuff? (WIMS) — a lightweight, pure client-side Quality-of-Life mod for Fabric (1.21 – 1.21.11) that visually caches your inventory upon death.

👻 How it works:

• The Moment You Die: WIMS takes a quick client-side snapshot of your inventory layout.
• Ghosting Stage: When you respawn, empty slots display faded ghost icons (with a 55% opacity overlay) showing you exactly what was lost and where it belonged.
• Smart Auto-Restore: As you pick up your dropped items, they automatically snap right back into their original slots.
• Occupant Relocation (The Best Part): If you accidentally pick up junk (like dirt or cobble) before reaching your items and it occupies a ghost slot, WIMS will automatically push the junk item away to make room when you pick up your actual lost item!

⚡ Key Features:

• 100% Client-Side Only: Works everywhere. Singleplayer, LAN, Realms, and even vanilla multiplayer networks (Hypixel, etc.).
• Keeps the Vanilla Challenge: Unlike gravestone mods or /keepInventory, your items still drop and can despawn. It just removes the tedious sorting penalty.
• Partial Recovery Support: If you only pick up 2 out of 5 lost diamonds, the ghost slot stays visible with a count of 3 until you find the rest.
• Zero Per-Tick Overhead: Highly optimized Mixin hooks ensure it won't impact your FPS or performance.
