1.2 felt HUGE when came out, Alternate evil biome (the crimson) alternate ores for each tier, new biomes and mini biomes (snow biome my favorite) alterante wood types, hardmode jungle and hardmode dungeon, new game mechanics and all of that was only the first part of the update!! then came the pumpking moon, the forst moon, all of the fishing mecanic (including Duke Fishron) each one on a separate sub-update

Agreed, 1.2 feels way more modern than pre 1.2 by a large mile
