First thing is you can catch the legend in the first spring during the rain. Don’t have to wait. Secondly, you can only put one legend in a single pond. You can however catch the legend 2.0 in the QI quest allowing you to catch as many as you want in the super late game so long as you don’t finish the quest. Thirdly it’s 1-4 roe for any legend in a pond a day. It’s not super insane money even with a few legend ponds but it’s a nice addition to your yields.
