For people that aren't aware of this yet, I recommend killing at least one Traveling Merchant every world to get the Peddler's hat, because if you throw that into the Shimmer you can get the Peddler's Satchel, which permanently increases the amount of items he sells!
Given how rare the Traveling Merchant is, having a bigger selection and in turn higher chance of getting something you want is always good.

The Peddlers hat can be shimmered for a permanent consumable buff 🙂
