    Bat cave by a mile IMO. It helps with the community center and makes friendship gifting easier. Having the space cleared to do whatever you want with the space in late game is a huge plus.

    The early game gold is nice but the money earned becomes beyond insignificant by the end of spring that it’s not worth even considering for me.

    You don't make the choice based on projected income. The bat cave helps with a community center rush. The mushroom cave helps with early game energy. Both will become near-useless when later fruit trees and mushroom logs are available. Since my first big hurdle tends to be the rush to floor 80, I usually go for mushroom cave, for predictable energy and health.

    I've been a fruit cave stan even before mushroom logs were a thing. Now it just seems so silly to pick the mushroom cave. I had taken a break from playing not long after the update dropped and only recently started playing again. The logs produce way more mushrooms than I know what to do with at the moment in my current save (still trying to get a bunch of dehydraters). Even just straight up selling a good chunk of them nets great profit! So fruit cave all the way!
