I just feel bad for boxing him into this farm life. I know he talks about loving life with me all the time, but it’s in the back of my head that this was the end of a dream for him.
(I know it’s not that serious and that it’s just a damn game, but let a girl feel a little.)

no, a lot of players feel like the characters become shallow husks of their former selves as soon as you marry them. but like the other commenter said, he never would have anyway. his canon storyline ends with you.
I havent gotten to romancing anyone yet but Seb is my top pick for now but then he started talking about driving away into the city on his motorcycle and he seemed so hopeful and omg 😭 i dont wanna do it now and make him get stuck out here!!! So i feel u. Idk what to do 🙁
My spouse refuses to get out of bed some days. I give her gifts everyday, her affection level is high, but I can’t help but feel that maybe In loving me she had to sacrifice her dreams in order to be with me. At times, she stands in the kitchen listlessly staring out the window. I wonder if she’s dreaming of what her life could be. We have a kid together, so I worry that she feels trapped now. I spend most of my time in the dungeons, doing things around Ginger Island, fixing up the village. I rarely see her now, too busy expanding my agricultural empire. I’m the reason she trapped herself in a life of domestic servitude, and now she rarely sees me.
Or these are all just glitches and she’s actually fine, I don’t know, she’s hard to read at times.
I mean, his dialogue and heart events have him come to terms with never going pro. The game makes it clear that he never was going with cliche lines about it. He had no prospects when you meet him.
It’s not like he would have gone on to be a big gridball star if you hadn’t met. It was either your farmhouse or his grandparents house.
The only spouse that I really feel like they’re giving up their life to live with you is Maru. That girl should really go to college and do some science and change the world.
All of the bachelors have dreams and ambitions that they never peruse bc the best option for them is to be with the farm / ConcernedApe didn’t write any other endings for them besides being with the farmer despite their alleged hopes and dreams.
Regardless I always marry Penny bc I need to get her away from her mom lol
This happens to all the characters but also, Alex is pretty clearly a stereotypical “almost went pro” guy. He’s gonna sit around his grandparents’ house talking about how he was nearly a pro gridball player until he has a heart attack at 47 years old from eating 20 eggs a day.
