If there’s a desert and a hole offscreen, things like this can happen, it’s rare but normal
I think surface enemies are able to spawn in a Dunes desert even if it is underground. I remember being able to encounter Pixies and Unicorns in my Mole People world via a hallowed Dunes desert.
(To clarify, a Dunes desert is one that doesn’t have an Antlion Nest in it.)
