Long story short, me and my team is developing a Survival Horror, Japanese themed mod pack but I did not find any cutscene mod that is easy to work with or satisfy all of our constraints. So, we decided to work on our own home grown cutscene engine that is easy enough for my silly low tech builder (:P) to work with. After a few days of work we came up with this.
Features:
– Camera system with keyframes for both movement and rotation
– Actor system with movement, facing, body facing and animation keyframes.
– GeckoLib animation system for actors with EmoteCraft emote support (with a few caveats, for now)
– Multitrack audio composing system with clamps, speed adjustment and volume control (must be mono ogg)
– A Director screen fully in game so it is really easy and comfortable to compose a cutscene with
That said, this is reallly realllllly early development with a plethora of bugs, so we have not decided to release it yet. After a lot more polishing and testing we will be releasing this to CurseForge and Modrinth.
P/S: The audio used in the video might be annoying and cringe to some people. But it is just a work in progress, please do not judge it too much. Thank you!
