Every year my expectations for Minecraft LIVE were so high. After every year I told myself “Next year will be better I’m sure” or “Next year we’ll finally get an End Update.”
Bro this year my expectations are so low. I’m expecting only one new block. Not even a new mob 😭
Imagine they give us an Ice Slime instead of the Iceologer.
It would be so good to finally get a Sift Update or End Update for the 10th anniversary. Especially with GTA 6 hype coming. But I’m starting to lose hope once again.
IMPORTANT: I am not aiming to criticize Mojang’s efforts, as I recognize they are doing their best. However, after many years, I believe many people share this view.

Every year is another disappointment. This trend started all the way back to 1.19. Hopefully this time around it will be something good.
Idk what you guys are on, it’s only a disappointment when you expect something crazy, personally been loving the updates.

The game is older than most people playing it. It’s so bloated at this point is a miracle it runs on anything. It doesn’t need 100 new books or 20 new mobs. It needs time to cool down. It needs to pay off some technical debt. Maybe we can have a year where people can just play the game for a while, how about that?

Dude, the drop system is just a fancy rename for the same kind of update that the game has received for most of its lifetime.
They’re not all going to be nether updates.
If they have genuinely good ideas for how to improve the game, maybe we’ll get another one, but it’s really difficult to come up with changes that won’t alienate massive swaths of the community, so clearly they need more time to deliberate about that.
It’s not like the game itself actually NEEDS anything more to it. The improvements that the game has been getting over the years are just really nice to have. And it would still be the most fun game of all time if they tomorrow decided to stop all updates forever.
they’re doing tons of back-end work to increase world gen options for data pack developers and make the game run better. not getting huge updates like the Nether update is fine; it gives them time to make those behind the curtain changes, which will pay off in the long run
Jesus the way you all complain is like you’re being forced to play the game, get a grip. Its a sandbox, minimalist survival game. It’s not gonna have massive crazy bosses
Ngl this has been my favorite Minecraft age by far, sure 1.13, 1.16 and 1.18 were better but the year as a whole loses to 2026
My expectations of Minecraft Live is that they won’t mention the fact that iPad users haven’t been able to play for over a week now. (If I mention this enough places maybe someone at Mojang will actually fix the problem, or at least explain why they can’t)

Minecraft makes the weirdest updates. The game keeps getting worse and bloated with strange stuff. Like how is the best solution to storage sorting a copper golem? Who’s having fun with that lol. Just copy the popular mods if you wanna see what people actually want. That multi colored sniffer mob… THAT is what they went with lmao, it’s absurd
Unpopular opinion. I dont want an end update. I think its decent where its at. The end SHOULD feel empty, I dont want biomes and a tone of structures

Mojang added a new dimension with 5 new biomes, 120 new blocks, 50 new items including foods, 5 new mobs including a boss, 15 additional variants on existing mobs, a way to smoothly move around builds with redstone like in Create, an enchant, 2 potion effects, 7 paintings, 6 structures, and new plants all throughout for an April Fool’s joke.

Do people even recognize the fact that doing an end up date properly is a massive balancing equation to satisfy players who want to keep the end barren and players who want the end update to just be the nether update 2.0? Like how do you even make a dimension that is both barren and also full of content?
Relax. They’re taking their time for a reason. It’s not like they can just immediately pivot on a dime as soon as the community wants something. They plan these updates years in advance and have to update things in a way that makes sense.
We wanted the cave update for the longest time and they gave it to us. Then we wanted an overworld overhaul, and they’ve been slowly but surely giving that to us with the past several drops. Now everyone’s screaming for an End update, y’all are never satisfied. We literally just got the greatest additions to building since concrete, and y’all are whining about how we never get anything good. Wth.
I used to love sifting for resources in the old modpacks.

I don’t know what GTA6 has anything to do with this, but yeah, I kinda get what you mean. The drops system kind of works, but that’s it. Kind of. They said that they’d still make a major update every once in a while, but we’ve got diddly squat instead. I get wanting to make smaller updates but making a big update to get everyone playing again (and paying for things on bedrock) should be something they should do.

Something tells me they wanted to release java vibrant visuals this summer, then a huge update in winter but things broke so everything got pushed back by like, a year probably. Imagine the end update or sift with VV, amazing marketing for your biggest update since 2021
Me and my misses look forward to minecraft live every year. Honestly at this point I’m sick of seeing people begging for an end update too.
The update I’m after is a railway update. Trains are severely lacking in vanilla Minecraft, given that they are hard to control (minecart and furnace) or expensive to set up (powered rails) while being basically left behind especially with elytra though that is a literal End game item.
* Connectable carts
* Steam engine with a controls GUI vs the very fiddly furnace cart
