Glass and amethyst chandelier design No.2, complementing redstone-powered cove lighting in the ballroom of a palace

Wait so what are the blocks surrounding the gold blocks above the chandeliers? Looks like stairs? But if they’re stairs, that means the ceiling is upper slabs. But the “crown molding” around the edges of the ceiling seems to be fully visible stair blocks. So if the ceiling is upper slabs then how is the molding working out? Or is there a half block gap above the molding that isn’t visible due to perspective?

edit: By the way your chandeliers and your whole ballroom look amazing, I just got sidetracked by the ceiling paradox lol
