The last frame is about 2 million blocks across and 2.6 million top to bottom. Minecraft worlds extend up to 30 million blocks out from the center in every direction, so all of that is still only about 0.15% of one. Numbers that don't make sense to my little human mind.

Zoomed out that far, you get some trippy optical illusions. On my screen it looks like it's still moving after the video ends, though Reddit's compression might kill that effect.

At the risk of getting shot – AI could do better.

Imagine Minecraft world generation with a mix of the current noise generation and AI trained to make world maps. Change world generation to a sphere so the AI won’t go nuts trying to figure out where polar regions should be placed.

I’m completely against using AI to replace human beings. But random world generation? – that’s a task worth delegating to it.
