  1. I think the problem here is with how people don’t use the Guide. Most of the times the first NPC you see like that in a game you’ll talk to you once and never again. He just needs one line of text that says like “keep talking to me as you progress and I will teach you everything you need to know.”

  2. The guide helps a lot, and the square in the top of your inventory hud tells you what’s next in terms of progression. But yes it can feel very confusing at the start with no context

  3. My hardcore pokemon friend gave up playing after failing to place door during goblin invasion lol.

Natural Blood moon and EoC also appear and evil biome may generate near spawn.

  4. I played terriria like forever ago I didnt know a single thing about it and I got so confused ended up spending most od my time failing to biuld a house and boxing in the guide

  5. Terraria's early game is way too good at filtering out new players. Even with 1,000 hours in the game i make it a point to speedrun early game as fast as possible cause it SUCKS.

  6. “I don’t know what this game is, and I can’t be fucked to figure it out. This is a failure on your part somehow.” What a weird critique. I get the sentiment of feeling lost with a new game, I just find it weird for that frustration to be framed as a failure of the game, and enough to say confidently you can’t recommend it.

  7. I only just realized how confused new players would be without help, we usually start a new character with the obj of getting some shoes, mining some ore, and getting to hardmode, but the new players actually just see 2d minecraft

  8. What really got me was that there was no explanation of how the guide can tell you every item a given material is used in. So I was just randomly bringing materials to different stations in the wild hope I could make somethig

  9. Starting with no context yeah usually you don't know what to do my little brother started playing and he hasn't fight any Boss on 10hrs lol. I let him play and maybe give markers if he asks me what to do next. I'm deep on 44hrs on a new character pre mech going around i didn't know about the shimmer uses and was amazed i did the ankh on 5min as i had extras of everything

  10. These type of people are actual dimwits, they expect the game to play itself, saving them from the trouble of exploring new things and finding out how it all works, at best they’ll have someone else drag them through the game’s progression so they can say “i’ve completed the game !”
They should go back to drinking and smoking their unlit lives away like usual

  11. I remember when i first played this game. I had to search on Google how to place a door. And honestly the reason i fell in love with this game is thanks to Tlpro on mobile with mods and a menu to get all items, I was a big fan of creative in minecraft and this made me fall in love with terraria just because of tlpro. I love this game without cheats but my favorite part is clearly building stuff

  12. Settling Liquids…

“Yo Hero, hey Hero, good you’re awake”

“Hero we’re gonna need your help, the crimson has invaded this world and you’re gonna stop it”

“Hero, start to cut down a tree, oh damn, you’re pretty good at this huh?”

“Okay hero time to make a house or we’ll be dealing with something more dangerous than just falling trees”

  13. I bought terraria 2016 played it 2h was totally lost and quit.
Than 2022 I was bored and started it again an it was the same feeling, until I found my first decent weapon (snowballcannon) and I was hooked. I even got 100% of achievement at that time.

  14. I played terraria a couple years ago and basically had the same reaction as this dude , fast forward to 4 weeks ago a friend convinced me to hop on and try a blind solo run …… needless to say he and i are doing a calamity infernum duo run now 😂

  15. The amount of people who find it basically impossible to enjoy a game if it doesn't have a objective marker telling you what to do is crazy.

  16. I remember when I first had my playthrough too. It was so confusing and I just craft and mine whatever I see. Then I tried to read the wiki. You might not believe me but I spent 1 week straight just only reading it, and some other guide on YouTube, not even played the game. The vast informations of this game is what kept me playing until now
