I'm working on an Ancient Ender Dragon for a Minecraft mod, and this is a comparison of two wing membrane approaches.
The static version uses three fixed planes per wing, each attached to a wing bone. As the wing folds, those planes can separate or overlap.
The dynamic version uses six panels per wing, updating their dimensions and visible pixel masks based on the wing joints and fingertip positions.
The flat colors are just for testing so it's easier to see what each panel is doing. It's still a prototype.
What do you think of the folding motion?

It’s pretty good, but i don’t think anything should change size at all. By that i mean the wing bones getting noticeably smaller, as well as the panes shrinking, making the lot look unnatural and a bit weird imo
