The crab is ass. The penguin is a retextured dolphin. The armadillo is decent.
They need to have a runner up vote of the last 3 second place mobs
I absolutely don’t see them doing a fakeout by adding all three. Would be cool though if they instead announce that the losing two will be added in the next update over, but I doubt it given Mojang’s track record with random promises
i'm voting the armadillo. the wolves need armor. but also never updating my game past 1.20 because the villager update is stupid
Mob votes are incredibly stupid and need to stop.
I may regret saying this and its only speculation but since there are no bugs for armadillos they might revisit the old termite mob vote from a while back

I wish they'd actually specified how much farther the crab claw extended your reach. 1 block? 2? 10? That's pretty important.
I want penguins because they didn't add birds in vanilla Minecraft. Except for parrots.
I'd say crab should win since it would overall give the most useful buff, as mentioned wolfs are way too prone to "accidents" that even armor probably won't help (though it would still be cool to have) and penguins sound very situational, plus if you can't take them with you then the stony shores are the only place you can maybe get a short speed boost for your boat, which is also not used that often compared to placing blocks.
Crab is king. Crabs could also come with the possibility of a new food item. You don't eat Armadillo's or Penguins, but you do eat crabs.

I feel like you’d see armadillos a lot more often than the others so they’d be more useful
I'm torn on this one. Crab claw is cool, as a builder I don't think it would be thaaat useful as it'll take up yet another inv slot and it'll probably only be like 1-2 blocks. Armadillo is cool for the wolves but it's not going to help fall damage and lava. The penguin, yet cute, seems like the polar bears in usefulness. If it fits in the boat, what about peeps that use the choat??? I'm up in the air all together lol this is going to be a hard one all around!
The only thing going against Armadillos & Wolf Armor is the fact that dog AI… kinda sucks. They fall off cliffs a bit too easily. Plus there's lava.
Also, unless your base is chunk-loaded, dogs can't TP to where you fly to

If they don't add all 3 we riot. They're too beneficial and enjoyable to pick one. Plus a modder will add all 3 in one day, the multimillion dollar company should be able to in a couple months.
I love penguins but I already find boats frustrating without speed boost. I'm hoping for wolf armor!

i really think that crabs will be the most useful in the long term, wolves are still gonna die easily due to poor ai and low damage etc + creepers. penguins i mean are cool but the thing is not every shore you lift off of will have penguins, and they likely wont follow you far out so long boat rides will still be long

What’s frustrating is I think it’s a pretty common community consensus that they do not want to pick between mobs.
As much as I would love the added utility of the crab claw, and as cute as the pengins are, I would argue that dogs deserve the upgrade. I feel like dogs have been somewhat neglected, and anything that can help give them new life is long overdue.

I think the crab has the best item, but it will probably be as rare as tridents for no reason. Then the wolf armor is neat, but your wolf will just survive like 5 extra hits. It's still gonna die from random fall damage, or a creeper. The penguin is only cool if they can be in the boat, but they're definitely the cutest. I'm kinda indifferent to the mobs this time because they're all animals that spawn in the wild. compared to allays and sniffers this is way better because i'll actually see them in my game. The sniffer doesn't do enough for me to want to go on a treasure hunt for the egg, and allays do something with redstone, so i just ignore them when i loot a pillager outpost.
I also don't think that if the crab or armadillo lose then wolf armor and extendo arm will be lost forever. Like people have been asking for wolf armor since wolves got added. They aren't going to just say that wolf armor will never exist in another way if the dillos lose. I am pretty surprised that extendo arm is something that they would even consider making. If crabs lose they can still put extendo arm on a new mob in a later update. like it could be some monster with a special weapon that you can use to craft an extendo arm.
if penguins lose then speedy boats aren't that likely to become a thing any time soon though. Like they could add seals or sea lions that do the exact same thing, but that would be kinda lame.
One thing I like how each of the mobs seem to specialize in something and lack in the other. Like how the crab doesn’t seem that interesting in the world but has great functionality, the armadillo seems ok in the world with ok functionality and the penguin seems really interesting in the world and mid at functionality. It offers great choices from a technical view
With wolf armor, can it be enchanted? So I can give my dogs thorn protection and blast resistance? I hope so.

Crab: Basically just adds an item that is the Create Extendo-Arm.
Armadillo: Wolf armor
Penguins: Dolphin's grace, but boats, and can go on land.
Every single Mob addition we've voted on has been the least useful. Phantoms, Glow Squids, Allays, & Sniffer.
So, Crab: Great item addition. Armadillos: Makes wolves more useful. Penguins: Make boat go faster, but only if they are nearby. (You'd probably be making a nether ice path if you really wanted to move quickly anyway)
The mob that's going to win is the Penguin, since it is the least useful one. Just watch. It'll happen, like it always does.
Would be amazing if the community could contrive to deliver exactly 33% votes for each mob. Force a split decision.
