Landslide that they caused I think they were covering up some sort of spill and it turned this part of the mind’s water into this lava looking thing otherwise how on Earth am I able to fish up literal sticks trash and newspaper it’d be burnt to a crisp I
Think joa did something and it even modified the eels that were in this cave anyway tomorrow we’re off to Summer

The theory that waste from Joja is what caused the eels in the cave to become “lava” eels makes even more sense once you consider that you can already find the mutant carp in the sewer, so obviously stuff like that can happen in the stardew universe.
I feel like the existence of the lava at the top of the Ginger Island volcano disproves this. Don't exactly remember but I think you can fish trash up there but you definitely can also get lava eels. Still a cool theory
