It’s because the weather is terrible right now. But hello, welcome. Good morning. We’re going to play Stardew Valley. I am really excited about this. All I want to do is farm. Let me open up. I just tried to search farm on my Steam like games list as if that was going to work. It’s fine. It’s fine. We’ve got it. Um, also Snap’s in here. Wait, if I go full There you go. She’s hanging out already. She’s clocked in. Um, I’m getting my game open. This should be fun. Oh, I also need to pin. Um, I should have done this before I went live because now the chat’s going to be really fast. I’m going to struggle to find my own message to pin. But I got this. Hold on. Hold on. Hopefully this will be kind of like a cozy um cozy little stream. At least that is my uh expectation cuz we’re just playing Sty Valley. But I will be live playing The Sims 4 later. Um I’m going to stream twice today. So that is the plan. Um all right. So, when we last played Stardy Valley, we had like just gotten to fall of year one. Um, we’ve been slowly working on all of that. We’re closing in on the community center. We’re not really close to being done. Um, we’re playing with remix bundles and I’ve got quite a few mods. Like, I have the expanded mod and some stuff like that. Um, this is kind of like a first time playthrough for me of modded Stardy Valley. I’ve never really done this before. Um, so if you have questions about mods, unfortunately, I don’t think I’m the right person to ask because I don’t really know that much about it. Um, but you know, that hopefully uh hopefully answers your question that I can’t answer. Um, and then we get to game a little bit this morning. So, you started a Jojo run and you regret it. Oh, see the Jojo run. I’ve only done it once um cuz I wanted to see it. And I also am not a huge fan of playing that. I just feel like it’s less fun. I I prefer like the the questiness of doing the community center and like trying to get all the items. I don’t love just like the pay to win sort of vibe with Joa. Like it’s not as exciting to me. Um so Oh, really? Scandinavian life. Thanks for coming by. It’s good to see you. Um you did Jojo run once and you abandoned the save because it made you so sad. Yeah. Yeah, that sounds about right. Um the difference I mean it’s like a huge storyline difference Lex because uh Joja Martar is like this evil corporation um in Stardy Valley and like your character used to work for them and then uh like left that life and came to like work on their grandpa’s farm and like now you’re running it by yourself and all this stuff. Um and Joa is like trying to run the like small businesses in in the valley out of business um because they’re like undercutting prices. You can kind of think about it like how Amazon is trying to shut down all independent bookstores by undercutting the prices of books. Um so that bookstores can’t keep up with that price because books are not supposed to be that cheap, but Amazon’s losing money on books just because they want you to buy books on Amazon. Um that’s what Jojo is doing in Stardy Valley. Um, and so you like can instead of like helping restore the community center, you can like buy this JoJo membership and you get all the same perks ultimately, but instead you just pay Jojo money instead of like trying to um like get all the bundles done. Um, and then the small businesses go out of business in town. So, and amazingly, um, my bot just put an Amazon Prime reminder in chat at the exact same time that I was saying that. Oh, dear God. Hey, look. We’re streaming on an Amazon owned platform. I understand that I am a hypocrite, but it is what it is. We raised $153,000 for charity on this Amazon owned platform, though. I’m waiting on a pumpkin still. Um, but we have it planted. Fish farmer bundle. Annoying. Hopefully, I can get a squid ink. Um, winter foraging. Obviously, it’s not winter yet, so we can’t get those. Um, waiting to find waiting for it to rain so we can get the walleye. Uh, I also have the master fishers bundle, which is very unfortunate. Um, but I think we can get the lava eel, so I should be okay there. I can also catch a blobfish. I know that. And we just don’t have access to the desert, so I can’t get a scorpion cart. But hopefully we can manage that soon. And then I haven’t started paying for the vault yet. Um, so we have all of that to pay for still. Um, on the bulletin board we have the foragers bundle still, which hopefully we can get this season pretty easily. Um, home cooks bundle. I’m waiting for my cows to be ready with milk. And I also don’t have any wheat flour yet, but that shouldn’t be too bad either. We can also just buy that if we need to. Um, the dye bundle is the big problem. We need a duck feather. We need a beet. And we need amaranth still. Amaranth is growing. It’ll be ready tomorrow. Duck feather. I’m upgrading my um coupe right now so we can get ducks hopefully soon. You should just go talk to them.” But I was and like they weren’t giving it to me. then it randomly showed up. So, I don’t know. Um, yeah, you you get a quest from them. I’m not even close to having them actually unlocked, but maybe one of these days. I feel like normally I can get this the squid ink pretty easily. Um, like this morning I changed one of the traits for the second generation because I realized that uh kids cannot have any of the traits that I had. So, you can’t like age up with those traits for Gen 2. Um, and I didn’t even think about that when I was writing it. So, I had to change one of the traits in Gen two already today. So, like, you know, there’s stuff that like you there’s just oversightes when you’re writing a 10 Generation Legacy um that we’ve kind of been starting to encounter. Um so, bear with me. We’re going to change it as we play, but then it’ll be done once we’ve played through it. Um yeah, that’s it’s actually kind of annoying to work around because I I I um really like the idea of the paranoid trait for that generation, but I can’t use it. Um so, I got rid of paranoid and I put evil instead. But then like one of the other gens had evil as a um base game alternative. So I want to change that because I don’t want to have the same trait twice. So it just like Yeah. Um he can’t use them all. Claire’s still at work. We can go give her her gift. I know. It’s it’s subject to change. I’ve been saying that since before I even started it. Um but it makes me feel embarrassed when people notice problems with it when I’m especially when I’m live and I feel like I can’t fix it that well. Um cuz I’m busy. Um it like it stinks to work on something for that long, I guess, and have people um notice a problem with it. Maybe that’s the main thing. You like pour your heart and soul into this and then like somebody notices a typo and then the typo is like the number one thing they remember about it. But there’s all these other things that are right. It’s not a big deal. It’s just, you know, I’m insecure. for my little challenge. Um, yeah, and it’s it’s nice to have more eyes on it to help with the play testing, which is also a good thing, obviously. Um, so it’s a win. I think I was just very overwhelmed by it yesterday cuz there was like there was like eight things that got noticed when I was streaming and I was like, “Oh my god, I’m streaming. This is the most stressful stream of my life cuz there was so much going on and we’re noticing all these errors that I’m trying to keep track of so I can fix them later.” So, I think yesterday I think was just um I don’t know. Yesterday was just a lot. But if you were in the stream, you saw If you were in the stream, you saw. There was so much going on. Um honestly, this has been like the uh most overwhelming weekend of probably my entire life. I I feel like my head’s going to explode because there’s just so much happening. It’s a good problem to have, but it’s it’s been a um emotionally a lot to deal with. Oh, I don’t I have another ticket. Didn’t I just pick one up or did I leave it? I mean, some people do, but like very small amount of people actually like come from the front page into chat. It’s just like an artificially inflated view count. Um cuz there there are people that like see it on the homepage but aren’t actually clicked in and also have you muted. Um, and also it just subjects you to like people being mean because the people that do come through are oftentimes trolls. Um, so there’s like you sometimes might see like a handful of new people, but um mostly the ones that are new are like mean. So yeah, I don’t know. It’s it’s a nice an opportunity, but uh I I found that it’s not actually that effective. The front page, at least not as effective as you would think it would be. Today, in between my streams, I’m going to read and then tonight I might spend some time cuz I’m going to end stream probably like 7. Me and a couple of my friends have started what we have been calling a book club, but it’s not actually book club in the like traditional sense of the word. What we’ve been doing is getting on a Discord call on Sunday nights and reading at the same time with like the Pomodoro method. Oh my god, I lost it. Um, so we might do that tonight later. It depends if um Luxie is free or not. So, it’s kind of fun. It’s been a good time. There’s a lot of yapping that takes place though and not as much reading as you might think. like be on a Discord call for like three hours and and read for like one hour of it. But it’s okay. It’s okay. The Pomodoro method is is um you put like a timer on basically and you um like work time, break time, work time, break time kind of. Um but yeah, that’s the idea. But then we usually talk for a lot of it in the beginning. But it’s pretty good. It’s pretty good. Um I don’t have it yet, unfortunately. Otherwise, I would. I don’t know if I’m going to use the task list or not, but I have like a timer, right? I’ll put that on. We’ll read for like 30, maybe 40 minutes. I haven’t decided. Probably 40. And then we’ll chat for like 10. And then timer goes back on. We’ll read and I’m going to mute myself and just play like chill music in the background. Um and then we all read together. It’s a little bit weird if you’ve never seen something like that before, but that’s kind of the idea. Um, it was really fun last time, so we’re going to do it again. Obviously, you don’t have to do it. You also don’t have to read. You could like craft. You could do homework, you know, study, whatever. Clean the house. Who knows? Um, but we’ll do that next Sunday morning. So, kind of like at this time, but next Sunday, which I know is Mother’s Day in the US, and it’s maybe bad timing for some people. A lot of people recommend when you’re moving with a cat, the donation bar, I mean, um to like keep them in a like small room like or like just one room by themsel um not alone, but like you know, so they’re not like dealing with like a big huge open space all at once and let them kind of get accustomed to the smaller space cuz a lot of cats like feel safer in a situation like that. Um obviously like not all cats feel that way, but a lot of cats do feel safer like that. and then kind of like let them uh branch out as they feel comfortable. Um, Snap, when we moved into this house, she hid in the closet um like sitting inside of our clothes in the closet. Um for like the first I don’t know, we we brought her here in the morning, maybe by like 900 a.m. Um and she hid in the closet until like the late afternoon and then by the evening she was coming out of our bedroom and like to come out into the hallway, but we like left her and like just let her be so she could hide and like feel comfortable. um and kind of let her come out on her own time. Um but it like made her feel better to sit in there, I think, in like a place that probably smelled familiar and felt safe. Um so like let them let them have that as well if they need that, I think. Yeah, I don’t think that you like you don’t need mods to have fun with Stardio, trust me. But it’s fun for me because I haven’t really done it yet. So yeah, I would see how you feel about it. Like try it and see if you can like maybe try and get perfection or something without modding. Um, there are some things like I don’t know like the to-do list might be nice if you never even if you never had mods before or never played before, but like I wouldn’t get like the expanded mod um straight away, you know?
