would be fairly hard to implement, as is the moon is a piece of the sky texture, so it would have to be a separate object, youd have to do a whole thing with the brightness changes, and it would be pretty rare so not all players would be able too see it, but its doable.

If they decide to do it, sure, that’s cool. But tbh, it’s not exactly a feature I consider in any way important.

that would be really, really cool, and i wish they add this to the game, but i’m not sure this will ever happen

They should do lunar eclipses too
Pure_Imagination9625 on
Yes. They could even make lots of mobs spawn when it happens if you’re in hard mode.

If its anything like terrarias solar eclipse then yes absolutely

Yes, but only if it turns the seas red with blood and brings forth ominous chanting in a forgotten language, the skies darken as all wildlife goes silent and the crawling chaos descends upon the earth once again

Will I get a broken hero sword?

Idk ask terraria player what they think

I don’t feel like the game needs additional excuses to grief players with zombies, creepers and skeleton archers.

I think it would be a neat detail but I don’t know how often it could happen or how it could be implemented. If it’s too common then it isn’t special and it becomes more annoying. It also requires separating the moon from the day cycle and having it spin by itself which makes it harder to tell when night is ending.
Plus there’s smaller details about the phases of the moon affecting spawn rates which would have to be adjusted to match too.

I’ve seen a few mods implement Solar Eclipses (such as Astral Sorcery), and they all do different things, but they happen infrequent enough that they’re always cool to see.
The main effect they have is it gets dark enough during the day for mobs to spawn, like during a thunderstorm.

It seems cool, then you think about the 10 min day night cycles and realize this would last maybe 30 seconds? Just feels too fast to make everything dark and return back to light. Maybe a larger rework needed, I want more effects like this

What I would love (But will probably never happen) is for the stars, the sun, and the moon to all follow sensible motions in the sky. Maybe throw in a few planets as well. Why would I like this? Well, minecraft lets you build things and I’d be neat to build a proper observatory type structure or even stonehenge type structure which could highlight specific celestial alignments.

yes, would be awesome, the sky needs a bit of an overhaul anyways.
