i made some example tree trunks to show how to build them
on top: blocks used (+ some that can be used)
item in the middle: the tree trunk i tried making
tips: walls have a lot of useful blockstates so theyre the best block for making tree trunks,
other blocks that are pretty useful are fences and fencegates, they are useful for branches
(with a debug stick you can turn on/off the in_wall property which when on makes the fencegate a little lower which is really useful)

I LOVE HOW INFORMATIVE THIS IS. Fantastic work and great color selections too :]
I wonder if the new shelves could make this even more detailed, like at the bottom where you have the wall surrounded by buttons.
something to note is that different wall types can be achieved in survival by using glass panes.
not as much as with a debug stick, but it helps
