I just can’t for the life of me make a good looking base I should just give up and rat in the forests like some folktale creature

    There’s no shame copying a build by following a video on youtube. That’s what I did when I first started building in minecraft. I would copy builds and make little changes that I thought looked better or that I liked more.

    Eventually you start remembering specific structures/decorations and start mixing and matching things from different builds. Then you’ll get to a point where you can build something from scratch just by picturing an idea in your head, freestyling it, and making changes as you go along.
