Hey everyone! I’m thinking about starting a “Forever World,” but I’m struggling a bit with creativity. I’m also pretty picky about where I build and what I build, which makes it harder to get started.
I know I’d like to settle somewhere near the ocean, and I have some long-term plans like building a city, a main home base, and various farms. I’d really appreciate any ideas or inspiration for what I could build or how to plan out the world!
I really like the top left or the center of the island because they have some mountainous terrain. 🤗

Minecraft Java (the admins say I need to state the game)
top left looks sick
I think the lower left area between the plains and badlands would be a stellar base location, especially because of the abundant food from the river and the possibility of passive mob spawns. Plus, badlands spawn a lot of gold, and I like gold.
Find a manageable starting location that you can secure and start developing without it being overwhelming. Like an island, peninsula, or hilltop. Otherwise if you start in the middle of a huge field, your base will feel wrong while it’s small, and you’ll get burned out trying to quickly expand it.
Great looking starter continent! For what it’s worth, no hostile mobs spawn in the mushroom fields biome. I have my main base on one and it’s fun to not need to worry about mobs, and then get jump scared when I leave!
Main thing with a forever world is to make a to-do board and take it slow. Pace yourself, it’s not a race!
I hate this term. It’s just a world. What makes the other words temporary?
I found this seed originally, there are a few spots that I can recommended.
The meadow plateau just north east of spawn is very pretty, there’s a couple villages in view, cherry trees across the valley and ice spikes in the distance of you have something like distant horizons installed.
The mountains to the very west are pretty.
The central plain is a nice spot, I’d build along a river here.
The jungle island to the south may be nice if you want something more secluded.
One thing that helps with keeping forever worlds is building the proper auto farms to get rid of tedious tasks
You know you don’t have to stick with one area, just make little vacation homes/villages everywhere. That way if one area gets too boring just move next door. I’d start nearby a river personally. I actually really like the cherry blossom biome for my crops and cows and stuff, just looks so pretty to have a farm up on those mountains.
I’ve struggled with forever worlds too, mostly too many plans and too much work to do. Also takes me a while to pick and choose a location, but honestly as you build more, you really don’t need to stick to that one spot, so don’t get too picky!
Also I noticed recently it helps for me to have a Minecraft YouTube video playing while I play so I don’t feel so alone in the world and I can just kind of explore listening to them talk about stuff. I used to get really bored but now I enjoy listening to someone chit chat a little in the background and hear them play while I play. I also get a lot of my ideas/inspiration while I’m building and hearing someone else talk.
using a shield early game really helps against skeletons, especially when you’re low on resources
Man this makes me miss playing! I would go in the middle personally just because then everything is around you within easy reach, but it really depends on your play style.
Now I need to go set up my pc so I can get back to it myself. ☺️
The center island is begging for a starter village that slowly turns into an accidental mega kingdom.
Start small for now. Think about the biome you’d personally like to settle in, and start there. I like Taiga villages, so I’d find one of those. If you want to go big, I’d start in the centre of the continent, and make a capital city. You could also bring in villagers from different biomes to add diversity there, as it could work as a central hub for trading.
Think of a forever world as something to explore, not “ideal spawn”. You can start with a starter base, explore the world, find best spots, build stuff there and so on.
Don’t think of it in terms of a specific build, but of a world where you will live. Walk around, look at the landscape, and build stuff based on that.
Give me your seed bro
You’ll have the whole island in your possession at some point, and I always like basing at 0/0, so I say go make a base at 0/0.
Would you mind sharing the seed?
I always tried to start a long term world on an island but lose inspiration pretty quick because of the limited space. It added more pressure to be ‘perfect’ and well thought out so as to have room for everything. I made a different world not on an island and have been going for 2 years now
