Terraria’s Minecraft Pack got 100x Better…

so it’s actually been nearly a year since we’ve taken a good look at melster’s minecraft texture pack and it’s something that i’m always itching to talk about because it’s one of my favorite things that’s ever been created for terraria period seriously i love this pack today we’re going to be looking at a beta build for an upcoming update that actually recently resprited three of the mechanical bosses as well as the empress of lie i want to see what the new sprites look like but i saw that the pack has actually gone ahead and implemented a feature which i think makes the pack just so much better and that is the fact that they now have a sprite for the chippy’s couch yeah look at it in all of its glory so if you and two friends all want to take a seat on the chippy’s couch in good style the channel it means that passionate terraria videos will be pumped directly to your home page that’s a good thing one of the things that always draws me in the second i boot up this pack is the backgrounds i feel like the implementation of these 3d clouds looks so good and i wanted to actually see some of the other backgrounds so i got some well these are called world tnts they’re actually like background globes from the zoologist so let’s try them out will it look like tnt kinda so this background is slightly different let’s see another oh all right all right this one’s good this one this one’s my favorite like i love the floating islands in the background this one actually reminds me of uh some of the promotional art they do for um is it minecraft earth or minecon you know where you do the mob vote and stuff reminds me of that and i’m actually just gonna start with some things i noticed straight away and that is that some of the pets now have sprites maybe they did before i honestly can’t remember i don’t think they did so take a look at some of these so you’ve got king slime look at that you also have the eye cthulu very fitting i love this one you got the mech eyes so cool the way they rotate yeah amazing you got the goat skull this is from the wall of flesh yes and which one’s this one oh that’s queen slime right this is the thing i’ll say if you’re gonna play with this pack maybe play from the start because they’ve got custom titles for everything it’s a little bit hard to to dive into an old world and keep track right so it’s night time let’s take a little look at these newly sprited bosses i’m very excited about this because the mech bosses already had a good sprite so to take them to the next level it’s going to be a bit of a challenge but i don’t know i feel like they’ve got it right so we’ll begin with the twins even just having the effort to add in all the sound effects love it yeah i really like these yeah i really like these a lot the cool thing that melster and lam actually do is they do actually offer alternatives to their sprites so let’s say for example do you kind of prefer the old ones well you can download a separate resource pack and uh and apply it and then you’ve got both both versions there yeah this looks good so far i really like this hearing the steve off in terraria is very jarring it feels like it just feels wrong makes my skin crawl but not necessarily in a bad way it just feels feels a little bit bizarre let’s see the second form then i think that’s what i’m most interested in here i want to see what happens when they start to show um a little bit more aggression because right now it’s just an eyeball it’s all about when the the eyeball opens up that’s what makes this fight oh i heard one of them oh yeah no that’s cool no that’s really cool no i love that no that’s really good yeah they look scary i love how intimidating they look even down to uh changing just the particles on the the flamethrower like everything has just got um a new squared texture to it and i really really like it let’s see the uh second form for this one because obviously this boss is going to have a a cannon sticking out i like that okay that’s interesting i didn’t know how they were going to do it i didn’t know if they’d go like open mouth and then a laser beam sticks out of the mouth now they’ve gone for like a cube a cube with a stick to be honest it looks a little bit like a dalek for any of my uh fellow british people out there let’s try the destroyer yeah okay now this this is always a hard one to really kind of get a good look at this one is good though this one is good but the destroyer at the end of the day and you can’t change this is just essentially a big worm but the little uh summons look cool as well the probes look ace they have little faces to them i like that gives them a little bit of personality so you feel a little bit of guilt taking them down i see how it is i really like the sound effects that have been added as you uh release a probe it’s like a small explosion it feels like um like a part is actually being detached from the boss so i think thematically that kind of works so i have to say the final mech boss skeletron prime is looking really good wait until his head stops spinning look at him he looks like a a mashup of of pure steel and redstone and oh he just looks great this is really cool i like that he has three eyes now as well it’s a subtle change but i dig it so we’re actually going to bail on this fight because i do want to take a look at the empress of light while it’s still night time but this gets the seal of approval it’s a big skeletron fan right so we’re in the hallowed and one thing i want to point out is that it seems like these flower beds now actually have a custom sprite i say this in all of my texture pack videos but there is a reason why i play in such a messy looking world and it’s because it shows you the true progress of a texture pack because i have everything randomly laid out yeah this is so much better wow okay so before the sprite was similar in concept but instead of being good it was kind of like a a black blob it was like this sprite but just um but just black no details to it i mean it probably had a little bit of detail but when you look at this it’s uh a night and day difference and i don’t believe it had all of these uh custom sprites for the attacks as well yeah this is so cool so i learned from my last video talking about this that this is actually from or it’s based on minecraft dungeons which are still yet to play but minecraft dungeons does look very fun oh the sound effects as well yes this is why i get so excited to talk about this pack oh we died uh so it says you died dropped five red orbs 18 blue orbs 17 turquoise orbs 61 green odds so that’s our like experience bar drained oh my god yes a little zombie chicken oh this is this is just fun this is so fun so that’s just a quick look at a beta build of an upcoming update now once the update drops i’m gonna be doing a much larger video thank you all for watching i’ll see you in the next one peace
