Beating Terraria With the NPCs Following Me

I have to protect every single one of Terraria’s NPCs in this pseudo hardcore challenge. If every single one of them dies then the runs ends but they are going to follow me wherever I go.

  1. Part of me wonders if it would be beneficial to have NPCs stack after a certain amount is added. So that after, for example, the 7th is added, the 8th goes above the 1st, 9th above 2nd and so on. Would prevent the conga-line from going off-screen and keep everyone a bit closer in general.

  2. It would be cool if instead of them floating behind you they would walk on the ground next to you like a pet. And for people like the dye trader he would go up to enemies and melee them. But ranged ones like the arms dealer would stay back and shoot.

  3. The run is destined to fail. The stuff that normal terraria help to boost npc are nothing in the grand scheme of things. It's probably more doable if there's a respawnable npc per day cap at 3 and let them attack bosses and player just dodge. Even then end game with no further upgrades can only be just pain simulator 2025. Rip npc

  4. letting the NPCs stack in multiple rows next time so that you can actually see what is going on, and to make it so destroyer is Lore Accurate when you fail to dodge it and it 1-shots all the NPCs in 1 pass.
this would do the same with empress, and every other boss with dumb amount of damage on an AOE/piercing attack

  5. i almost feel like this would be a more interesting run in an otherwise vanilla game (aside from just npcs not respawning). Then again maybe it would be too easy to just set up an underground bunker where you stash away all the npcs and they never die. Still this mod felt pretty janky ngl, no offense to the dev.

  6. I think just having up to four NPCs in the line would make the run easier. The nurse would have an easier time and there would be fewer random casualties.

  7. I'm pretty sure I saw someone beating all bosses with just npcs. I'm pretty sure that Dryad and Nurse were the core of the set up (Dryad for her buff/debuff and Nurse for healing). Btw. I'm surprised that your Dryad didn't use her attack once, is she working properly?

  8. The moment the video started and I saw the NPCs floating behind in a line, I just envisioned Moonlord shooting his laser and just melting the whole line. It really is the worst attack of his, isn’t it?

  9. this would be a intresting way to play if 1 newb controls the character and several pros are floating behind him helping him like these npcs
