Why can’t I plant my fruit trees here? They are iridium quality, I just wanted to rearrange my farm. If it’s because of the brick, could I use a different flooring?

You need to remove the flooring entirely until they are fully grown

You cant have anything in the surrounding spaces or they won’t grow, flooring included. Temporarily remove your flooring and put it back when the trees are grown

I think the trees need to grow before putting the brick down. Plus, they might be too close with only one spot between.

remove flooring until they’re grown then redo the flooring once they’re grown!

You have to clear the lovely setup for your trees until they are fully grown, then you can put the flooring back without a problem. The 9 squares where your tree is centered need to be clear or your trees will not grow.

When you place fruit trees there has to be 8 open spaces around them meaning you can pickaxe the brick place the trees then replace the brick around then and they should grow fine

Remove the flooring and replace it once the tree is grown. It has to have a clear set of tiles all the way around to grow.

Like others said, the trees have to be fully grown before you can have flooring around them. Additionally, the spacing on fruit trees is two tiles apart, not one (which is fine for pine/oak/maple/etc).

You can’t have any flooring until they’re fully grown, and the spacing you have set up is too close together.

1. Fruit Tree saplings need a completely clear 3×3 space around them. Environmental walls such as the cliff-side and greenhouse walls don’t count, so they can be planted there.
2. A fruit tree’s space cannot overlap with another fruit tree’s space.
3. Once the tree is fully grown, you can fill in the space.

Are there some paths you can use around fruit trees? I know for regular tree farms people use paths around the trees to prevent debris spawning. Is that not possible at all with fruit trees?

The only thing that can be around the trees are grass

Pardon my ignorance how do you get iridium quality fruit trees? Or any quality for that matter.
