Please help me figure out a way for them to go further out on their pasture! I've allotted 1/4 of my farm for their grass pasture but they don't venture out any farther than a few blocks away from their barn door. I've tried adding fences and more grass in the area but they still stay here. I keep my barn doors open throughout the night btw.

  1. I’ve people do it with weird fence corridors, but the more simple solution is likely just to spread your barns out more.

  2. I’m guessing they think they don’t have enough room between the barn doors and the fence doors to properly move. You don’t need that extra barricade.

  3. If you fill the whole thing in with grass they will eat closest to the doors then spread out and eat further down. I feel like it’s a mixture of those fences so close to there doors and them not seeing any grass so they don’t move much.

There was recently a post about how to place lightning rods on the grass so that the grass would generate automatically about same as much as the animals eat. ( The idea is that a patch of grass generates some grass next to it every night and you place lightning rod on top of it so that the animals would not eat it, then the grass regenerates and animals eat the generated grass each day so that you would not loose too much hay during spring, summer and autumn. Also you get batteries. ) Maybe yo should check that out.

I would remove that horizontal fence. Why is it there? You’re blocking many of them behind or you’re forcing them to squeeze through two small gates. Also, try planting grass on the way south or where you want them to go.

Have you ever tried to squeeze through a door when 10 other people are trying to do the same?

    Theres your answer.
